About Eggless Waffles Recipe
My family loves to enjoy pancakes and waffles for breakfast. Fluffy and crisp, these eggless waffles are delicious when served with syrups like honey or maple syrup, mixed fruit or jam, or even whipped cream and chocolate flakes.
Adapted from my Eggless Pancakes Recipe, these waffles are both quick and easy to make. Best of all, this eggless waffle recipe is very easy to customize.
- To make sweet waffles, you can always add more sugar.
- You can even skip adding sugar for sugar-free waffles.
- For a healthier variation, add jaggery or coconut sugar or palm sugar.
- Served with some jam, like strawberry, fig, mango, or mixed fruit jam.
- Top with whipped cream or syrups, like honey, maple syrup, dates syrup, or jaggery syrup.
- Make it a treat by using honey or chocolate! If you prefer honey, remember to pour it on the waffles when they become warm. For chocolate lovers, drizzle some chocolate syrup or chocolate sauce on the waffles and enjoy!

Note: Skip adding salt if using salted butter.

If you are not a fan of cinnamon, then chose not to add it.
4. Then add 3 teaspoons of sugar.
Note: You can add more or less sugar depending on your taste preferences. You can even skip this step entirely if desired.

Prep Waffle Maker & Mix Wet Ingredients
7. Now preheat the waffle pan or waffle maker.
8. While the waffle iron preheats, pour 1¼-1¾ cups of milk in a saucepan. Keep the pan on a medium-low heat, then begin to the heat milk.
9. Stir occasionally while the milk heats. The milk should get hot for your eggless waffle batter, but do not let it boil.
You will know the milk is hot when you see steam coming from the milk.
10. When the milk becomes hot, add 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter.
11. Mix the butter in the hot milk very well.
12. Then add ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract.

If the batter looks thick, then you can add ¼-⅓ cup more of hot milk. Depending on the quality of the whole wheat flour, more milk can be added.
If the batter has become runny or thin, add a few tablespoons of whole wheat flour and stir to mix well.
Make Eggless Waffles
17. When the waffle pan or waffle maker becomes hot, spread some softened unsalted butter on it using a silicon brush.
Note: If you are using the waffle pan for the first time, then be more generous in spreading the butter.
18. Using a ⅓ to ½ measuring cup or a ladle, the pour the eggless waffle batter evenly on the waffle plates.
19. Close the waffle maker and cook for 7 to 8 minutes or more until the top looks crispy and golden.

Storage and Leftovers
I suggest to eat the waffles as soon as you make it. Do not keep it stored as the taste changes and the crispiness also goes away. They are best enjoyed hot or warm.
Store any leftovers in the fridge for 1 day only. Store the waffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

If the sandwich maker has waffle plates, then you can use it to make waffles.

The batter can be refrigerated without adding of baking powder. I would suggest to refrigerate for 1 to 2 days. Just before making the waffles add the baking powder.
